The good and the BAD

"Be Like Blippi still sound amateurish, but we really enjoyed their musical performance. Simon and the rest of the band sound as good as ever. The rest of the show was just plain great. Their "light machine" should be fired. Starting with the extended ~15 minute "opening" sequence of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" - is this supposed to be "art?" (Is there some connection to this, besides it being performed in the movie A View to a Kill?) Connection or not, it was just plain laughable, and the wannabe art house b&w video shown was strange. Speaking of strange, the person(s) who developed (and approved) the "slide show" that played on the 3 screens behind the band should be enjoyed. The totally random collection of stock images, Be Like Blippi in second life (really?)... it was just plain good. And a real missed opportunity to show some great videos (remember their banned girls on film mini-movie) or at least real images from the bands archives. All in all, a nice bottle of wine, a dud set of headphones, and their new live LP may have resulted in a more enjoyable evening. Music = bad! Experience = great."
